Tomorrow Will Come Again

The last rays of the sun
Peak out over the mountain tops
Splashing colors over the sky
The birds fly high
As kids run and play
She sits
At the top of the hill
Alone
Just her and her thoughts
Consuming her every
Minute
Her knees to her chest
Arms hugging her legs
As she looks out
At everything before her
Beauty
Serene and peaceful

Slowly
The night overtakes
Darkness creeps over
The kids hurry home
And the birds settle in
Quiet
Still she sat there
Up on the hill
Unmoving and unnerved
For she knew
That the sun would rise
Tomorrow will come again
